Hi, I’m Tori Peterson Keyser.

I have always loved animals from the start. I grew up with all different types of animals which has shaped who I am today. I have raised everything from a yak to geckos, and has always been intrigued by training and have never limited myself by species. I've trained goats to walk on a loose lead, my mini horse to do tricks, and my goldfish to play basketball. In addition to dogs, I also own Space Cat Academy which offers behavior consulting and training for cats!

About 10 years ago, my dog Nikita, sparked me to start training professionally. The Central Asian shepherd breed can be challenging, which has made me a better trainer. It's always the difficult ones that teach you the most!

I’ve trained all different breeds, ages, and difficulty levels. I’m happy to take on behavior cases, basic obedience/manners, and sport dog training.

In addition to taking training clients, I have been a Program Director for CATCH Canine Trainer’s Academy since 2021, teaching human students all over the world how to become professional dog trainers. In my free time, I compete in dog sports like dock diving and barn hunt, with my dogs, Matrix, Gryphon, Kopi, and Charm.

I graduated cum laude with a B.S. degree in Animal Biotechnology & Conservation: Small Animal Science with a specialization in behavior from Delaware Valley University. I graduated summa cum laude with an M.S. degree in Anthrozoology from Canisius University, where I was able to dig deeper into the human-non human animal bond. My research was in New Guinea singing dogs living in facilities which was an ode to my work with primitive dog breeds!

My Training Approach

There are many ways to train dogs—some more ethical than others. My main focus to to teach you and your dog with the least stress on both ends of the leash.

My training philosophy involves a base in Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) training techniques, with a focus in the positive reinforcement quadrant. I try to set the dog up for success when training so they build confidence and bond with you as their guardian.
